Every year, Olympus Events hosts the Eastern Winter Ball for the House Building sector. If you have previously attended the event, you will know it is truly a night of celebrating, recognising stand out businesses, raising much needed awareness of The Curve Foundation charity and helping to support their amazing work.

We want to take this opportunity to look back at the last 8 years of the Eastern Winter Ball and show you the impact it has made on The Curve Foundation.

Why did The Eastern Winter Ball choose to support The Curve Foundation?

curve foundation logoIn the last five years, the likelihood of young people having a mental health problem has increased by 50%. In a classroom of 30 children it’s likely to have 5 with a mental health problem. Alarmingly 75% of children and young people who experience a mental health problem aren’t getting the help they need.

The Curve Foundation gives children and young people access to vital mental health and wellbeing support before things get unmanageable. However, to do this they need to raise funds to keep up with the current high demand and make an impact on as many young lives as they can. Through the donations and support they receive, they can provide children and young people with the tools and resources to effectively manage their mental health, both now and when they reach adulthood.

How has The Eastern Winter Ball impacted The Curve Foundation?

Four years ago, Olympus Events carefully selected The Curve Foundation as their chosen charity.  At the Eastern Winter Ball , all guests learn about the amazing work and impact the charity is having on the young people of Essex. Thanks to the generosity and support of the wonderful businesses who attend the Eastern Winter Ball, over £150,000 has so far been raised. This staggering amount of money has allowed The Curve Foundation to increase the amount of vital mental health and wellbeing support they can provide.

Moulsham High School, Chelmsford

Thanks to the success of the annual Eastern Winter Ball, The Curve Foundation were able to launch at their first school, Moulsham High School in Chelmsford.  For three years, The Curve Foundation have provided one-to-one counselling sessions for their students suffering with mental health concerns. The Curve Counsellors provide three sessions a week to students in need of this support. Without this service, students would have no choice but to seek an NHS referral which unfortunately (in most cases) takes far too long! The Curve Foundation is helping to bridge this gap.

The Ramsey Academy, Halstead

In January 2025, The Curve Foundation were proud to announce that they were launching their counselling service at their second school, The Ramsey Academy in Halstead. They plan to provide this school with the same level of support as Moulsham High School. With the exceptional level of care, knowledge and support from the Curve Counsellors, they expect the same positive feedback as the other school.

Future Curve Foundation Plans?

The Curve Foundation hope to continue their support throughout Essex with the aim of expanding to a third school. Thanks to the generosity and kindness of the businesses who attend The Eastern Winter Ball, the Curve Foundation have been able to support children everyday. No child should suffer with mental health issues but with The Curve Foundation’s support, you can help children effectively manage their mental health now and as they go into adulthood.
